Title: queen rearing video
Post by: slacker361 on May 08, 2011, 12:22:37 PM
does anyone know if there is a good instructional video on the web for raising your own queens..... I have a really good queen, and would love to get some more for the other two hives that I have, and hopefully in the future...

thanks

If you want one that shows the different methods actually being done, I like the one from Beeworks.  Get the "Queen Rearing" one as it also has the Nicot one in it.  Don't buy both and don't get the Nicot one.  The "Queen Rearing" one has Nicot, grafting and just doing a split and letting them raise a queen.

I bought the Beeworks video a couple of years back based on MB's recommendation. Money well spent-good video. As said buy the one with all three methods. It also covers equipment needed, differences in equipment and making up the split.

check out Mel Disselkoehen website:  mdasplitter.com   he has a good easy way to raise queens on the spot (OTS queen rearing system) that requires no grafting... just a hive tool.
