Title: sundance bottom trap failure?
Post by: slacker361 on May 10, 2011, 01:08:30 PM
is it possible that a bottom trap could have a failure letting the bee ( most of them) get past without removing the pollen? I see a ton of bees going in with a lot of pollen yet, hardly any pollen?

On most pollen traps there is a means of activating the pollen collection or deactivating it.  Re-read the instructions and check the trap, it is probably in the deactivated mode.

Collect pollen in small intervals, the bees need it more than you do to rear brood, leaving it in the pollen collecting setting for prolonged periods can set your hive growth back a lot.
