So I am expecting to get thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow as well as Friday. So today I went and checked to see if my queen was released, she wasn't. I was going to pull the cork at let her out, but all of the bees seem to like her but one who look liked it was trying to sting her. The workers stinger wasn't out tho. So what I did was I made a good size hole thru the candy. I hope to check again on saturday to see if she is released. Today marked the six days she has been in there. Is this what I should do or something different? Thanks!
Pull the cork and let her out, she can't lay eggs in that cage.

6 days is about 4 days too long already.
lol what did yo use for candy? was it something soft like marshmellow. but they should be used to her by now so should be ok to let her out
If the bee is trying to stick it's stinger in the wire, then it's trying to sting. If it has it's butt in the air with it's stinger exposed it's nasonoving, which is putting out pheromones to tell everyone where the queen is.
Our new packages did not travel with their queens. We put the queen cages in and gave them two days to get acquainted. Only one queen was balled when released, and it turned out that hive already had a (virgin?) queen loose in the package.
