This one was nice and easy and they have bees in the house I will be removing within the next two weeks.

New Orleans East Swarm On Mail Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4-NAE9NKq4#ws)
enjoyed., as always, how long for them to move in, you may have said but I missed it..dl
Thats how package bees are going to start coming now...sans package!
In all I was probably there an hour. Most of the bees were in the box within a half hour or so but I had to give some a push as some still thought the queen was with them. Included in that hour I checked out the hive in the ceiling I will be removing soon. Had to go into the attic and pet the dog and of course tell stories about my dogs, etc... :-D

Thanks jp, never tried that, and was curious about the time..We had temps in the 30s mon and tues, not expecting anything real soon..dl
Not a bad little swarm...good catch!
Scott
Nice video JP.
I liked the close ups. You could actually see the wax coming out of the glands on their undersides. Kewl.
Thx,
Jay

That was so, so sweet watching the bees up close finding the box. I really enjoyed that part of the video, plus the homeowner who was getting a kick out of the whole experience. You treat people really nice JP and make it an enjoyable experience for others as well.
Thanks
Annette

JP, based on this video, which was posted elsewhere on this site, I learned about the wax glands.
Bee Six Packs (http://www.sciencefriday.com/videos/watch/10351)
If you look at around the 4:00 minute mark, you can make out the wax on some of the bees that are fanning.
Thx again!
Jay
JP You post some the most interesting video's! Thanks for taking the time to do it.
You are lucking up on some good swarms. No ladders needed (the best kind).
Jay, I can see their nasonov glands but didn't see any wax plates being secreted. Will have to look some more.

Yet another good lesson
no need to brush them, just show them the way
Let them be, bees
Make it and they will come
Good one
thanks
