HI All!
I'm getting my first hive set up this weekend, and have a lot to learn still. A friend of mine suggested this forum as a good place to learn new information and to talk to other Beeks!
My husband and I farm our 7 acres, and raise poultry, beef, just got our first goats, we grow a lot of our own produce, and we've been planting fruit trees, berry bushes, and lots of other food bearing perinnials.
And now we're adding bees!
Glad you're here. It is a great place to learn and ask questions.
James
welcome..........looks like your almost self sustainable. All you need is solar panels and a wind mill pump.
Hello and Welcome!
I'm sure you'll find this forum to be a good place to learn more about bees and beekeeping. Be sure to check out the tutorials on the main Beemaster page ("Backyard Beekeeping Course").
Are you involved with a local club? Clubs are great for finding mentors and getting connected with the local beekeeping community:

Lastly, don't forget to update your profile to include your location. Much of beekeeping is location-specific, so when you ask questions, it will help to know where you are.

Not quite self sustainable yet! but trying to do as much as we can :D
I still have to get my hive registered this week and check into a local bee club. I've borrowed Backyard Beekeeping from my mom to read - although I think my husband has read most of it today while I was a poultry swap meet!
Looking forward to checking out the forums more!
