Title: unique bee keeping
Post by: seabees on May 23, 2011, 02:50:28 AM
I am considering assembling a two queen tower system
(a la bjornbeeapiaries.com unique beekeeping) I use a top entrance which I think will still work. I can modify the queen excluder. Is there any more info I should be trying to find?

A top entrance is fine as long as the drones can get out of the brood nest.  Which means a minimum of a 3/8" hole between the drones and the outside.  They can't get through the excluder to go out the top.

Thanks  Beemaster for posting the photos. I will ensure that the top entrance is at least 3/8" maybe 1/2".
