I like Italians my winters are mild around here and they like to lay year round so, they have something to feed their young because I have good weather pretty much year round so my hives thrive. that is my reason for Italians. the rest of you are smartasses but that is why I like this forum.
Any that are still alive after winter are my favorites
My wife loves the bright yellow Italian look. I know it is a bit frivolous, but when you are not keeping them for a living you can afford to take the time to smell the roses, as they say.
I tend to like catching ferel swarms. They have been surviving with no medication and I don't medicate my bees...we get along great.
so far buckfast all the way...

Amen! 2nd favorite, low hanging primary swarms.
Not really picky as to what breed they are or what they look like as long as they perform well and survive.
the ferrel survivors that i have gathered and that survived treatment ( chemical ) free.
all others gotta go.
Bailey
I have one hive of mutt bees that survived in a tree for 6 yrs that I like really well.

My favorite Bee was my mother, that was her given name Bee. Bea comes from Beatrice or Bealuh, but since my mother's full name was Bealuh Bee she was a double Bee.
But does the honey ever taste any different if different breeds are put on the same forrage?
