Just heard from another member of the group (gguidester) that one of his friends in SE Wisconsin had a swarm on his property, likely from one of his buddies overwintered hives. It was gone before they could get mobilized to grab it :'(
We just had frost warnings last night. Hoping that is the end of this miserable Spring and we can actually get to bee season.
My observation hive is just on the edge of swarming. I think as soon as they cap one of the 2 queen cells I can see they will be gone . . . if not, it is going to be one crowded hive when the 2 deeps chock full of brood bust out this upcoming week. All the sudden it is going to more than double in population of an already overcrowded obs hive.
