Title: Question - Difference in frames/foundation sizes.
Post by: Irina on June 01, 2011, 04:49:41 PM
What is the different between -

4.9 8 1/2 Medium Brood Small cell foundation and
4.9 8 1/2 LongHook wired small cell foundation

I know about the small cells foundation, not in the description.
Also, are these foundations for the Deep box or for the medium box/honey super???

They sell them at the Dadans & Sons store.

Thankyou

"Medium Brood" when used to describe foundation is talking about the thickness (medium) of the wax and the cell size (brood as opposed to drone or 7/11).  So 8 1/2" medium brood foundation is the size that goes in a deep frame.

The difference between the two you listed is that one is wired and the other is not.

Yup, so you can save your money on a ABJ or Bee Culture subscription. I get more worthwhile information here free for the asking everyday versus having to wait a month for a fraction of info.
