Title: 4th Inspection Findings
Post by: BeeV on June 04, 2011, 10:54:19 PM
Started my first hive five weeks ago with three frames of brood/bees and a new caged queen. I started off with an eight frame deep with a division board feeder. They were just starting to draw out frames 1 and 7 last week so I added a medium with plastic foundation. This weeks inspection reveled frames 1 and 7 almost completely drawn out and every cell on all the deep frames has eggs/brood or syrup and very little pollen. They haven't touched the medium frames. Today I removed the division board feeder and added the last deep frame back and added an empty medium to the top and put a bucket feeder in. It was cloudy and rainy the first  four weeks, and then it has turned out sunny and in the 90's this last week. Almost nothing flowering so not much pollen coming in. Should I be doing anything differently?

Sounds like you are doing fine to me.
