Someone out there must have tried to extract from super cell. Does it fit in an extractor? Does it put strain on the motor? Come on guys and gals, in the years this board has been up, no one has tried to extract from it?
Later,
John.
I have about 500- 600 honey super cell med frames in my supers
Possibly you have permacomb unless you have cut the supercell down as supercell only (as far as I know) is available in deeps. How did the permacomb work in your extractor? I have had such good luck with the supercell this year I will buy more for next year if it will fit in a Dadant 6-12 extractor. Please let me know what your experiences have been.
Thanks,
John.
I cut the super cell down. I can't remember if I extracted any. I have extracted the PermaComb many times. If it's drawn thick enough I just uncap as usual. If it's not, I use a Hackler Honey Punch. The PermaComb extracts fine. I don't know about the "fit" of the HSC in my extractor.
Thanks Michael,
New hives this year. After one month, virtually no drawn comb. Went to supercell, almost immediate acceptance. Seemed like a miracle to me. As far as I can tell, super cell dimensions are standard and should work. I hope I am not mistaken.
Thanks for the response.
John.
I'm not sure about the top "bars" and end "bars". But they aren't far from standard for sure.

What I have is HSC but not fully drawn as the hive body frames. They are all black plastic drone cell with a dot in the th bottom that is suppose to make the queen think there is already a egg in the cell.
