Hope someone can help with this. I've been reading some older post about storing honey or freezing honey to keep it from crystallizing. Has anyone froze a 5 gal bucket before? If so, how long did it take to thaw so you could bottle it? Any ideas other than just setting it out to thaw?
Thanks for your ideas :)
Bobby
Freezing frames is a way to preserve them for intact long-term storage or for later re-introduction to a hive. Freezing kills larvae and adult insects that would like to eat the wax and honey. It's mainly SHB and wax moths you would be worried about. If you plan to extract and filter the honey, you don't have to freeze it. People have been harvesting and storing honey for thousands of years without benefit of freezers.
Freezing and then thawing honey does not keep it from crystallizing.
