Title: Plastic frame niches
Post by: oberlinmom1 on June 18, 2011, 10:29:16 PM
I live in a pocket of Ohio that has SHB.  I have several molded plastic frames (I don't know the brand) that I am not sure I want to use. There are so many small niches all around the frame that the SHB could hide in and be out of reach of the bees. I don't want to wait or hope the girls will propolis all the gaps. Does anyone fill these in? If so what do you use or what would you recommend?   :?  I really don't want to replace all of them if I can come up with a plan.....

I use 600 PF-120 plastic frames; have had no problems here in South Central Mo.

Good Luck

Try using propolis or wax.
