pollination purpes... can you have to many hives ?

You won't have worse pollination if you have more hives.   But it is possible to have too many hives for the available forage.  In that case the bees would not have enough nectar/pollen to keep all the hives going.

What are you trying to pollinate?   And remember, bees are flying for miles around that field finding forage.
