When requeening or on the new side of a split with a added new queen are you ever worried about the bees building a supercedure cells? Thank's, Brad
Many purchased queens (especially those that come with packages) do get superseded. It slows the hive down a bit but it's not a disaster. The bees will take care of it.
Supersedure is really only a big issue for people who think commercial queens are superior to open-mated queens.
Just purchased and installed some sunkists and a queen from Tabers and want to see how they preform, especially since I'm trying to eliminate the breed (russians) that are in the hives now. How often should I inspect for supercedure cells as I of course installed frames of brood with each split. Thank's, Brad
