Title: Help
Post by: Dange on July 10, 2011, 09:45:18 PM
First year.  My bees are starting to beard at the entrance.  So I believe I need to have better airflow for them correct? Also will this cause them to swarm? I have two deep bodies on and the second isn't all the way complete. It has five frames empty. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Also when I did an inspection today there wasn't and hasn't been any queen cells. Also I checked the queen cups and they were empty.

When I have a heavily bearded hive, I smile, relax, and go about my business happily. It is a sign of a strong, healthy hive. I love it.

I'm with Iddee on this one.   Watch and enjoy.   Your bees are doing fine.

Some top ventilation would be nice though to help them along.
