Spills happen.    That would have made for one giant swarm.   Too bad they were foamed.   I guess all the equipment was a total loss.

Doesn't this seem to happen about every 6 months?

Yeah, the beek probably did much better than $150 per hive!

I was in my boss's office Monday when his phone rang. It was his wife, calling to say she had left Yellowstone and was stuck in a massive traffic jam after a truck full of bees overturned.

It's one of the deadliest problems in beekeeping that's been around for a long time, it's called the Semi-disease.  Wipes out an entire apiary in moments.
