I received some interesting PMs and emails over the years, many I've share, some a bit off the wall - but this I'm familiar with and although I'm not of much use "NOW" there was a time I would easily reply to this SEARCH for someone doing regular bee-sting therapy. This could be YOUR CHANCE to be on a new Television show. I believe the message is real, can't quite varify it, but I need to throw this out there.
The email is self-explanatory and if you think you are interested, please contact me and I'll pass on your info. I'm a firm believer in apitherapy having done it for 2 years many years ago on my neck after a 20 foot fall to an asphalt surface, but alas... I don't do it currently. But READ ON - if you are familiar with this TV SHOW you may just have your 15 minutes of fame.
Being stung regularly by bees makes more sense to me that being addicted to eating toilet paper and couch cushions - but whatever floats your boat I say :)
TV documentary series on bee stings
I came across your extensive site/ring/forum while doing some research for a television series that I am currently casting. The series airs on TLC, and is called "My Strange Addiction." I've learned that many people turn to bee stings as a form of alternative medicine, and we're hoping to profile someone on this series that believes strongly in stinging themselves with bees, and does it multiple times per day. I don't know if you'd consider yourself "obsessed" or "addicted" to stinging yourself with bees, or if you're just an avid bee enthusiast, but would you be interested in participating in this series and sharing your love of bee stings with us? Or would you know of someone who might be more qualified as "obsessed" with bee sting therapy that might be interested?
Any help you can offer would be great.
I don't like to get stung, it just happens. Just part of the self abuse I guess. But I don't try to get stung on purpose.
They just want to make a Freak Show out of somebody. In the process they will probably manage to make it look like anyone who does apitherapy is a freak or even that anyone who works with bees is a freak. Personally I wouldn't have anything to do with them or help them in any way.
Alfred
I'm with Alfred. When I seen "obsessed" or "addicted", I decided I didn't want anything to do with them. My wife and I both use bee stings for arthritis and don't consider it obsessed or addicted.
I only allowed someone else to get me stung once. But I admit getting stung is a bit of a rush and I miss it when I don't. But, of course, it also hurts...
