Title: Its official
Post by: Shanevrr on July 21, 2011, 10:03:03 PM
I'm officially a Brushy Mountian Dealer. We plan to have retail store, just walk in and purchase.  Everything is ready, just need to go pick up inventory, after deciding what to keep.  We are not doing any internet stuff.

What do you guys recommend keeping on the shelves.  What does everyone buy? And I know hives :-D

Meds for the fall.  Maybe jars in such for honey production now.   In winter get boxes, frames, and hive components for the spring.

A guy here is a Brushy dealer and also carries other folks equipment. Maybe Brushy gave you a better deal than he gets. He claims Brushy dose not give him much of a discount. Of couse he is also not close enough for pick-up and I belive has alot shippped or drives about 4hrs or so.
Of course the folks that buy from him are basically trying to avoid shipping. I bought an Italian hive tool the other day and it wa 17.95. I thought a little pricy for a small piece item, but then again I didn't have to pay shipping. I should have waited fro Dec. free shipping.

One of his big ticket items is bulk sugar @ .40 lb.

I got my inventory today,  8 skids worth,  brushy has a nice place,  very nice people,  i was surprised at what all they made themselves.  Im glad I went with them after seeing there operation.

Im sure I can get things cheaper other places but there customer service is far from none,  they back up there products 100%

Sugar for 40 cent, thats a deal,  I looked everywhere couldnt find it that cheap.  Cheapest I found was 55 cent a LB.

Congratulations! What a big adventure.

As a newbee, Im thinking you could stock start up kits with mediums, frames, hive tool, smoker, bee veil... Keep it small and as cheap as you can. Once you have starter customers that are happy they will come back for more.

As a female, I like everything bee related now and will spring for those little extras if their in front of me. Bee embossed soap, embroidered bee towels, bee signs, etc. (Guess whats on my Christmas list)

Best of luck to you!
