Title: super weight?
Post by: beehappy1950 on August 03, 2011, 12:53:00 AM
How much honey can you get from a 6 and 5\8 super? I have one hive that has 3 supers and a deep filled out , trying to figure out the weight. Harold

It varies. Mr. Bush has some weights listed for various sized boxes here:

My experience is that even for the same-sized box, there can be a significant difference in the weight of one capped honey super from another. I use shallows, and average between 20-30 lbs of extracted honey per super.

Plan on 25 pounds per 8 frame medium.  Maybe a little more.

Approx. 3 lb., or 1 quart, per frame. It will vary.

Close to 3 gallons per medium super.
