i put my capping wax in a plastic tub & let the bees have at it all day yesterday. the wax is now a pile of large crumbs. there'a not enough o do anything with yet so i'm going to freeze it. do i need to wash it before freezing?
No, you can wash it any time. I still have cappings from the past 2 years in the freezer and this years still in the bucket ready to freeze. Or get off my tail and work it all down. Remember if you wash before you freeze, make sure it is dry before you freeze.
i guess they are after the honey. i had some more capping wax & some burr comb. i put it in the same plastic tub today & the bees worked over the capping wax & ignored the burr comb. but some bees were working the propolis on an empty super.
