Hi, new beekeeper here, or at least soon to be a beekeeper, gonna start next summer. Been looking through the forums and decided to join. My uncle has bees and decided i wanted to do it too, doing a lot of research, and will be ready to for next year.
Hey Dynasty,
Welcome to the forum and welcome to beekeeping. I got your message. I think that a great idea would be for you to join the Northern Colorado Beekepers Association. They have regular meetings and classes and could even set you up with a mentor. I would volunteer but I am already completeley swamped as it is. I am already being a poor mentor to someone else, mostly because I am so busy with other stuff. Keep in touch though and make sure to use this forum it has been my best rescource.

Welcome to bee keeping. I hope your uncle lives near you. My father in law has been a bee keeper for a long time and even teaches in a local college. Problem is he is in PA. I worked on his hives for 1 day while on vacation and talk to him on the phone (sometimes while in the hives) but I really whish he was close by.

yeah i found their website, and was looking through it. Saw they have some events coming up, but didn't see any contact info to ask them how/when to join. I know they had a meeting september 22, and have a meeting coming in october, but didn't want to just show up and find out its members only lol. Assuming just send the NCBA president an email for info but haven't done it yet.

No he doesn't live close :( but can always get ahold of him if i need advice
The main purpose of our club to teach new bee keepers about bee keeping. We are all about welcoming new members. Every meeting we ask who is new to the club and ask about where they are in bee keeping. We have lots of members who do not have bees yet. They want to learn as much as possible before getting them.

good to know
Welcome to the forum.
Welcome to the "tea party" beekeeping forum.
Right now i'm trying to decide if i want to build my hive, or buy it. Found plans for a 10 frame hive at beesource, but don't know if i should just buy one so i know the dimensions are right, then copy it.
Welcome to the forum!
