Title: Time to get back into it
Post by: TwT on September 30, 2011, 10:24:33 PM
well after 14 months of being crippled from RA and then getting hit with I want a divorce bug then moving to La over a year ago, I am finally getting my mess together, just came to Ga to get the rest of my hives and guest what, all empty, seems I wasn't here to check them and seems most straved either from this past spring of this summer, it was plenty dry here but it was only 5 hives that were left but I did move 8 hives with me, so this coming year I am going to split and graft to see what I can get, got enough equipment moved to make up 40 hive, truck loaded now with about enough to make 20 more and still have a truck and traler load left not counting my honet tank or extractor, so all I have to do next spring is feed and raise queens, have about 40 hive bodies now ready with frames and foundation ready to go and have about 150 more frames assembleds and ready to put wax in, just have to hit it hard and not worry about honey this year, just add numbers. well thats a little of my story just to let yaw know, heck seems like I dont know most of the members on now, well I have 8 hives and going to go full blown this spring so I will keep all up to date, nice to chat with most again, ttyl

hard to believe I am down to 8 hives, built up slowly since I started in 2004 but after not caring for my bee's and building up to 60+ hives then going to 8 in 2 years, most starved and looks like others got weak and SH B's got them, some could have been mites or weak queens after they swarmed, heck I dont know except for the starved hive's (about 40) how they were losed, but 8 made it, so next year I got to grow like never before, I get a longer season in La, so I am going to really work them hard, guest I will be buying alot of sugar lol .
