Lee, I don't know if it is too late, however here  is a link to NC Agriculture Review with listing of Queens for sale.  The first entry (Jack Tapp) is the only one I am familiar with.  I purchased a Nuc from him, 2 weeks ago.

I just got 2 Carniolans from Draper, and an Italian earlier in the summer that's been going gangbusters.  They're good people to deal with, I've always received good service and good product.

Most places carry them into September.

I have been shipping queens but the heat is causing some losses.  I may wait until the heat breaks before shipping more.  I shipped some on Monday because it was the first time in a while that it's stayed under 90 for the day.  :)

Lots of people have queens.  *I* have queens. Email me at [email protected] if you can't find what you want.  It has been too hot and I've lost a lot in transit lately, but the heat seems to be breaking everywhere now.

So you're not saying it's too late to buy a queen but it's too late to save the hive?

How many bees are left?

I've seen a medium sized swarm build up enough from this time of year to winter.

Do you have another hive?

That would be a cluster smaller than a soccer ball and bigger than a softball.  Does that sound right to you?  Probably worth putting it in a small space and either give them so brood to rear a queen or buy a queen.  But if you have any other hives you could also consolidate them.

Feral survivors.  I breed from the black ones.  I get some black queens, some tiger striped, and occasionally some yellow ones.
