Title: "creamy" honey
Post by: gardeningfireman on October 27, 2011, 12:19:31 PM
I extracted the last of my surplus honey a couple days ago. It is really thick and creamy, not clear at all. It looks almost like creamed honey! It tastes fine, but what's up with the clarity and texture? I put a jar of it in a bowl of hot water, and that made it thinner, but did nothing for the clarity.

You may indeed have a batch of creamed honey.  It happens that it sometimes crystalizes finely and sounds like that is what it is.  Save some for seed.  I wonder if it settled and strained out well enough to sell as is?  It is a premium product and worth more money.

It went through a double strainer and has sat since Tuesday.
