Hi All,
Joe Downing from northeast of Hattiesburg,Ms. I have built a tbh and a langstroth?hive, both with screen bottoms. No bee's at the present. Checking local for spring time bees. I think I have a good place for them, I've got 25 acres of crimson clover, lots of wild hedge and neighbor has several acres of golden rod, etc. I joined the local bee club, I plan to help bees best I can. without chemicals, or foundation.
Plus you've got the other 8,000 acres or so around you that they'll work. :)
Sounds like you've got a good location. Welcome to the forum!
Check with your local bee clubs regarding spring bees. Russell Apiaries will be selling nucs this spring and I'm sure there are other companies and individuals that will be selling.
Best wishes and have FUN!!! ;)
Ed
Welcome to the site and "good luck" when you get your bees. Larry

Actually, I think my bees maybe came from your place? My uncle bought them for me when he set up his hives. Small world.
Hi Gold,
I really don't think so, I just got my first bees in Dec 2011, and I still have all three hives.
Joe
<chuckle> I think goldfinch was replying to bud1. ;)

Yes, I'm sorry Joe, I sort of hijacked your thread .
