G'day bee buddies,
Salut mon pote,
I'm frozdrone, a 36-years old commercial beekeeper/queen producer. My forum name actually tells you a bit about me: I was born in France and I'm now living between Australia (where I gained most of my beekeeping know-how) and France. I've this crazy dream which I'm still pursuing, i.e. working bees all year round. I own and try to manage to the best of my abilities, TWO beekeeping operation. The first one is in France where I keep around 500 colonies and around 1000 Kieler mating nuclei. The second and most recent one is down under, in New South Whales, which quickly grew up to 1000 colonies and 2800 mating nuclei. Sadly a long drought followed by floods and the ban of the export trade of live bees to the USA, put too much hardship on me and I'm now working hard to rebuild the Aussie operation.
My hidden strength: I've got extensive experience working with bees with and without mites, which offers me interesting highlights on quite a few issues...
Sure I'm looking forward to exchange ideas and tricks with all of you guys, either beginner, side-liner or commercial buddy. One thing I've been told by one of my mentors and in which I believe firmly is: the more experience one will get working with bees, the more he discovers one needs to master.
Cheers to all.
Salutations apicoles
