Title: Bees are flying today
Post by: BrentX on December 31, 2011, 03:35:38 PM
It was warm enough for the bees to get out of the hive today, and there was much activity for about two hours.  As soon as the shade came around it was back to winter quiet mode.  It was nice to see so many healthy bees about.  The one hive that is short on stores now has 5 pound dry sugar siting on news paper just above the cluster.

Nice. By the time the temp had gone up much (47F now) the sun had gone.

Good plan on the sugar. I'll be checking on that tomorrow. Supposed to be warm again.

There has only been about five or six days so far this winter that my bees wasn't flying. Today it was in the upper 50's and the bees were bringing in tons of pollen in every color.
