I agree Bernsad. If they're correct and from reading that article they may very well be, it would explain that debilitating phenomenon that has been such a mystery to beekeepers and scientists everywhere.
It may be now that all they need is a biological "can of Mortein" to bring the parasite under control.

I find it fascinating that an insect can have an even smaller insect as a parasite. It wouldn't surprise me if those flys had something parasitising them as well.
For those fleas have lesser fleas,
to scratch and claw and bite'em.
And these fleas have lesser fleas,
so on, Ad Infinitum...
Do bacteria live on bacteria?
And it may just be another case of media hype.
