I have been reading about mating nucs on Michael Bush's site and Robo's site. I think I understand that the virgin queen is placed in a a two fram mating nuc to mate and start laying. What next? Is she plucked out, marked and banked? Is she pulled out marked and sent to her new owner or hive? What do you do with the bees and the frames in the mating nucs after that?
Stick another queen cell in ther (or let them make their own) and start it all over again! I usually transfer the whole thing up and sell it off using new splits every time.

Since I use standard frames, when I'm done for the season (and I usually raise as many batches of queens as I can in the nucs) then I combine all of the mating nucs into larger nucs to overwinter them. If you have the MINI mating nucs, you have other problems...
