just wanted to say hi & i am glad i found this board.it looks like there is alot of good reading i need to catch up on here.
i do not have any bees yet but i plan to get 4-5 packages this Spring.so,i have been busy putting hives together & painting.i am not totally new to bees though - when i was a kid i helped my Grandfather with his bees.....i just wish i had paid more attention back then.

Welcome to the forum, T.J. I'm down south of Montgomery. Glad to hear you're getting *back* into bees. We all wished we had listened to our fathers/grandfathers more...and on a lot of issues. I bet as you work with the bees there will be things that come back to you that you had forgotten all about...

i'm not shure what all i will remember.....alot has changed in 30 years.my Grandfather would probably tell me i'm crazy to try and keep bees in all mediums ;)

The biggest changes I would think are varroa mites and small hive beetles and how they affect honey bee management today. Study up well on them. ;)
