Title: Essential Oils
Post by: tedlemay on February 02, 2012, 12:33:38 PM
I have another newbee question. :-D In the fall i did some open feeding (1/1 sugar water with EO mixed) to build up my hives. It worked very well. They built up a medium to about 70%. Now for the question......... when i put my honey supers on this spring and lets say they move some of this sugar honey  with EO up into the honey supers and we extract it as honey with the other, is this ok? I have read where EO can be dangerous. Just my mind doing what it does best.....rambling! lol

If the concentration wasn't potent enough to kill the bees when they collected it or moved it,  I would venture a guess it won't kill you
