Title: Available Cordovan queens, nucs, or packages
Post by: greenbtree on March 01, 2012, 12:56:04 PM
Does anyone know of a source of the light Cordovan bees closer to Iowa?  My son is showing budding interest in beekeeping and wants some of the gold Cordovans, but the only source I found is California, and the cost to ship a package from there is a hundred bucks.  Yeah, I know color is no big thing, but he's a kid, and it's what he wanted for his birthday.

So order a queen from Cali. and buy a package locally, or make a split. Why pay freight on bees that are going to die within 6 weeks any way.

Yeah, that is what I'm thinking, maybe get two queens and do splits, in case one fails.  I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
