Title: No Queen !
Post by: blanc on March 10, 2012, 09:55:47 AM
:( Looks like my little catch has no queen. Looks like about a thousand bees or better working to no end without their leader.

give them a new queen, or a frame of eggs.

The swarm may have in fact been much larger than what you were left with because it left & what you have are its remnants. I sent you a PM James.

Thx JP and Bailey said you rather hang out with the bees instead of him with the crabs  :)

I'd rather hang with bees than with someone who has crabs too! :-D

My first little swarm catch has grown a bit but stil have not determined if they have a queen. They are cross combing and may have to do cut out to place in a lang. Used cotton string with wax on top bars but switched to cove molding and when they hit the first bar of cove mold they appear to be straightening out themselves. I will get in soon to check for queen. Just got in my bee suit and will get a good look.
