what a strange year! want to know how everyone's bees did in my area with the light winter.  my bees where bringing in pollen already by the boat load yesterday. looked like it was from the maples and the poplars  Very light stores of honey from the warm winter :? Been feeding them sugar water for the past week now. Only lost 2 hives out of my 20, going to be doing lots of splits this year, hopefully triple my numbers  :-D

Here in central MA it's about the same as you kbee.  They came through the winter great, despite somewhat low stores.  Now they are extremely active, bringing back pollen and looking for nectar but not finding any.  I started feeding with an open feeder yesterday.

If my bees can not find pollen, then something is wrong.   They just need to look on top of my truck, or on the roads, or when the air turns yellow when the wind blows.  The porch is yellow now.
