Title: Amazed after One week!
Post by: blanc on March 21, 2012, 05:35:36 PM
Placed my little swarm in my kenyan top bar hive exactly one week ago and peeked in today and discovered five beautiful straight cones and am amazed at how fast they can work. My first small swarm I caught about 3 weeks ago are cross coning and not many bees. I used cotton string as my guide on first one and created the problem and discovered using the cove molding upside down creates a better guide. I may leave them for a while and do a cut out and put em in a langstom or combine them. May be too small to survive. I was able to place an order for 5 bar nuc with Mr Bailey and have to build me a couple langstroms. It's all new to me and appreciate this site for the info it brings!
