Title: Trap-Out from a tree - video
Post by: Rex Smith on March 28, 2012, 09:33:09 PM
Here's video of my trapout from today.  The honeybees came in on Monday - and I got a voicemail from the homeowner about "5-7 bees coming out of my tree".  I wondered (to myself) - "Why is he calling me about 5-7 bees?!".  I called him back a little later - and now - I wish I'd been a little quicker on the return call.

As I pulled up to his house - the swarm was just arriving.  He's seen the scouts - and called me... thinking that he already had a colony of bees.  When I got there Monday - it was a tornado-storm of arriving bees.

(Do I need to post an "initiation video" first? ha! )

Good video there.   I was thinking that the nuc was a little high, but the bees were finding it.

I don't disagree - but the spot where I had it sitting was a natural great place to set it & strap it into place.
