Title: 2:00 am swarm...
Post by: duck on April 09, 2012, 10:36:05 PM
caught these at 2:00 am in the full moonlight.. had a nuc and put em in it.  I left them there for the rest of today, the bees have a small ball hanging off the bottom front of the nuc like its another swarm.. weird, does this mean they are crowded and need a deep?  I only had a nuc, and need to build like crazy.

Chances are they might run.   Use an excluder under the queen to keep her in the box for a couple of days.  Open the nuc and see if all frames are covered with bees.

You can.   I have about half that number on the side on one of my swarm traps right now.   I had a swarm and then lost them.   They are the left behinds.   I am just going to leave them on there.
