Title: Swarm arrives on one of my traps
Post by: enchplant on April 24, 2012, 09:30:47 PM
Here is a nice size swarm that arrived on one of my swarm traps.javascript:void(0); A regular nuc box with some old comb inside and a little lemongrass oil smeared on the inside.

Nice video capture of the queen in the cluster!

I never see the queen and just hope for the best when I collect a swarm of bees.  If a swarm doesn't go/stay in a box I've dumped them in (and start frantically fanning the entrance) I figure I didn't get the queen and go back into the trees again to brush out some more bees.

Great video, awesome shots of the queen.  I've never made a swarm trap, gonna have to try it.

Great video and catching the queen as the star of the show. Thank you for sharing as it is very inspirational. I am going to give it a try.
