Title: dead uncapped brood
Post by: JackM on May 08, 2012, 09:54:38 AM
Noticed quite a few dead uncapped brood.  I would say the larvae were only 1/16=1/8 in length.  Larvae turned black.  Do not see mites, will start a hive mite count today, but have seen no signs of mites or any other vermin.  This hive has a questionable queen.

Have been watching several dead brood being carried away from hive only notable thing is none have heads, bodies look fully grown.  Those are white and glisten.

Ya forgot the camera yesterday.  Even had it in my pocket.  Not going to bother them today.

I agree with Jim. Especially due to your location. What are your night time temps?
