Title: how to ship queens?
Post by: slacker361 on May 16, 2012, 10:53:55 AM
How to all of you queen producers ship your queens. I think USPS is the only one that ships. But do you place them in the queen holder then put the queen holder in a box? or in a shipping bag? do you clearly mark that there is a live queen inside the package?

and then how do you make the candy to put in the queen cage. I have those plastic queen cages.

If just a few, they put the queen cages into a cardboard priority mail envelope with lots of holes punched in it for air.      Larger numbers get shipped in a battery box and then into an envelope.

I have only bought.   Never sold any of my queens.   Too much paperwork to become a bee producer for me.
