2 deep frames of capped brood with attendant bees, 2 deep frames of capped honey, and the old queen. Hopefully they will make it ok.
2 deep frames this early in the season should make you a nice split. Lots of time for the bees to build up, especially with a mated queen. I've made 2 deep frame splits in August and had living bees next spring. I think you'll do fine, just make sure they don't get robbed out early on.
I put a reducer on the entrance and will be watching for robbers. I split this one off of a 3 deep 8 frame hive that is a bouncing betty (plumb full)!
She has mean kids but she is a survivor so I decided to keep her and endure the pain until she is superseded.
