Title: Large burr comb when frames forgotten
Post by: Joseph Clemens on September 08, 2005, 05:07:09 PM
It has been mentioned what happens when you forget to include the proper quantity of frames in supers added to hives.

Earlier this season I was adding supers and overlooked including the proper amount of frames in one. Later when I went to harvest honey I got this surprise:

I just smoked them out of the nooks and crannies.

Usually if you only leave out one you get one nice comb that isn't attached to a frame.  :)  I usually scrap the nice ones if they are honey or tie them in a frame if they are brood.

Usuually if you leave out two, you get the kind of mess you have.

MB, I believe you are correct. This is probably two missing frames on the one side of the super.
