Title: What plant is this?
Post by: RZRBCK BEE on May 31, 2012, 12:04:54 PM
My bees are hitting this stuff but I don't know what it is. Any ideas? Nectar or pollen?

Don't know but it's pretty.  I'm curious to know what it is as well.

Asclepias tuberosa.  It's a milkweed.  Called butterfly weed here.

I bought one of these (yes paid good money for a weed!) last summer and had a dozen monarch caterpillars' roaming around eating it.  Very interesting to watch them grow into butterflies.
