Right now all my hives
are sitting on pallets in
the field. I need to
place those hives on
my new migratory
pallets (6 hives to my
new pallet and the
pallet is the screened
bottom ) so I would
have to remove the
bottom boards from my
hives (hive stabled to
bottom board) and
place them on the new
pallet.
So I am looking
for some tips on
making this transition!
It would be convenient
to do this during the
day but I don't want to
mess the bees up plus
we are in a honey flow
now.
Working bees is not always convenient.
You may need to remove the staples during a sunny afternoon. Then come back at night to transfer the hives.
Are your hives individually distinctly marked?
After the move, obstruct the openings with weeds or branches so the bees reorient.

are the hives sitting how they would be on the six way now? if so just move them to the side put the pallet in the center then transfer them onto the new pallet they will reorientate surprisingly fast if they are in the relative same location hope that made sense
