Title: Hello from Novato CA
Post by: CaBees on June 04, 2012, 03:30:10 PM
Just introducing myself; I am a new beekeeper from Novato, CA.   I received my first split last August, fed them through the winter and they are now my strongest hive (the Italian girls).  I obtained two swarms this year for a total of 3 hives.  I also caught more swarms and gave them away.

I've taken classes and read as much as possible to learn about bees.  I am trying to do as much hands on as possible as well.  So, I will have questions and hope to be able to help others in the future.

Current project is extracting a swarm that invaded an owl's nest and drove them out.  I am using a Hogan type extractor but unsure if it will succeeed....the hole is 8 feet up but will try to attach it tonight.

Last time I was down in Novato was for the Renaissance fair. Hello to another California beekeeper. I am here up north.

Welcome
