Title: Bees in chimney need ideas
Post by: Bellavista2 on June 16, 2012, 11:19:21 AM
Hi guys and girls  Hive in chimney. I haven't looked at it yet but would like to have some ideas when I show up to look at them.

Take a mirror with you on a bright sunny day. You can then see as far into the chimney as you need. Easy trap-out if you can close them up from the bottom to prevent them from going inside the house.
I would build a simple wooden cap with a screen funnel and set a box for them.

looks like there between the bricks and the flue pipe so i guess I'll have to pass as I would have to remove some bricks to get at them. Thanks for the suggestions though. The guy just bought this rental and I don't think he will want to go through a great big deal to save then.

I'd go with Yockey's suggestion. It should be an easy trap out even so. You don't need to remove any bricks, just set up a screen cone as Yockey suggested.
