Bees will hit it.   It is not the yellow clover that produces tons of honey, but bees do use it.

They get pollen from the crimson, mine work it pretty good. The bee yard is about 40 yards from a 25 acre field of crimson.  In 2011 a commerical beek had some hives about 1 1/2 to 2 miles from me and his bees worked it also.  Good luck Pembroke.

My hayfield is full of what I call red clover. My bees work it for pollen but I think bumblebees are about all that can reach the nectar. My pastures have Ladino clover and they work it good.
I think the yellow clover is called sweet clover, it comes in yellow and white. It was too dry here this year for the Ladino to do any good.

I understand there is one race of bees that has a tongue long enough to work red clover, carnolians perhaps?
