Title: superseded Queen cell
Post by: gunnyrhino on August 02, 2012, 09:54:46 PM
I recently discovered superseder queen cells on uncapped the other capped, I left the hive alone for a couple of days and rechecked, 1 cells was gone the other capped and no sign of others, I uncapped the cell to find a queen about 5 days old. will the workers recap the queen cell.

I really doubt it.    If you opened it up easy and close it back up since the wax is soft, everything should be OK.

About a third of the cap came off and it wasn't attached, wondering if i should just purchase a queen to be safe. This is my first hive.
