hi there does anyone know of a good book on queen rearing thinking of raising my own queens next year for the first time thanks
About 2/3rds of the way down on this page http://www.bushfarms.com/xstar.htm (http://www.bushfarms.com/xstar.htm) Michael Bush lists some excellent queen rearing books. I've heard that the two by Jay Smith are particularly well done.
thanks triple very helpfull

Have fun!
Marla Spivak teaches a great course on queen rearing using the Doolittle method at the Univ of Minnesota. I took it this year and it really was a great course. It just does cover in detail the Doolittle method though, not other methods . . . mainly because they have used it exclusively for their research and "it works".
You can get the course manual and a video

I purchased the Marla Spivak course manual and a video and it was money well spent. A must buy on your short list.
